This is basically a 7 month old video telling you about changes Google made 9 months ago, an eternity in the SEO world. Beyond that, SEOMOZ is two thumbs up for sharing knowledge.
Bigger, deeper, more frequently updated websites are going to win in the long run as long as the content is quality. I think Google is already starting to "grade" content based on readability and grammar algorithms, so poorly written, poorly spun content is not going to count toward your link juice.
