LEXINGTON, SC (WIS) -

Lexington County School District One announced Wednesday that Lexington High School's athletics director and varsity head football coach decided to leave the school.

Scott Earley made the announcement to staff and students Wednesday morning.

The district says Earley told them he was leaving to move his family to North Carolina to be closer with his mother-in-law.

Earley also said he wanted to pursue other opportunities.
